So, it’s that time of year again when the streets of New York City are awash in statuesque “beautiful people” and designer runway trends galore. Fashion Week kicks off with the usual industry coverage amped up and in high gear by mainstream and independent media outlets glammed and jammed together for a cause. And, I must mention the wave of bloggers who now join this élite force clamoring to gain entry under the big tent. Yes, my reference to the circus is deliberate here but I’m not hatin’ on any models or their entourage. In fact, I will be front and center among those captivated by Fashion Week, albeit my choice of events involve the alternative showcase known as Catwalk Tragedy at the Highline Ballroom. Just point me and my Nikon in the direction of the avant-garde, underground crowd sporting an assortment of piercings, tattoos, Mohawks and anything out of the ordinary.
