HEALTH: Designing an Open House to Wellness

BUILDING HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES TOGETHER

Natural Awakenings Magazine and Stonehenge Properties have a common goal in mind and want to share that with a larger audience. Embarking on a new partnership, they are on the path to creating a more holistic approach to living in Manhattan by bridging the gap between Stonehenge residents and the communities where they live. Awareness, teamwork and social responsibility were among key points discussed at this month’s Wellness Summit held at The Olivia, one of Stonehenge’s luxury rental properties overlooking Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen.

“It’s all about renovation, renewal, restoring, revitalizing … let’s get back to what’s happening in our neighborhoods,” Stonehenge Creative Director Michael Stern told a group of wellness industry leaders attending the morning event. Whole Foods Market provided a bountiful display of fresh fruits and other breakfast items.

Stonehenge is taking steps to build better communities by giving back to local neighborhoods where its properties are located, company representatives explained. “I think this is a new paradigm. It really hasn’t been done before,” Stern said. “We need to share with people what your mission is, we need to share this amazing community of people in Manhattan who are the caretakers of human beings,” he told Wellness Summit attendees.

In addition to Natural Awakenings and Whole Foods, Stonehenge has established Lifestyle Partnerships with organizations such as Covenant House, the James Beard Foundation, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Windowfarms, Eco-Concepts, Wearable Collections, Local Warming through Yoga, Broadway Kids Center, Urban Girl Squad, Mashadi, Bella Life and God’s Love We Deliver. Stonehenge also is actively involved with the 34th Street Partnership, Times Square Alliance, Gramercy Park Block Association and SOHO Partnership.

EARTH DAY EXPO AT RITZ PLAZA PARK

Natural Awakenings Magazine Publisher Tina Woods emphasized how important it is to make real connections with readers and business clients who are serious about ushering in new ways of thinking about healthy alternatives in a stressful world. “We’re very excited to be moving along and really getting out into the community now,” Woods said. The Wellness Summit and upcoming Earth Day Expo with Stonehenge are part of a unique wellness series that offers a platform to promote and encourage a change for the better. The Earth Day celebration runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Stonehenge’s Ritz Plaza Park at 235 W. 48th Street. The event is free and open to the public.

  1. I’ve been browsing on-line greater than three hours lately, yet I by no means found any interesting article like yours. It’s lovely price enough for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made good content material as you probably did, the internet might be a lot more helpful than ever before.

    • I must admit, I often share that sentiment about what appears on the Internet most days (lacking in quality content rather than quantity). My efforts and intentions remain focused on enlightening/informing, inspiring and encouraging people when needed, if I can in any way.

  2. I just like the valuable info you provide to your articles. I will bookmark your blog and take a look at once more right here regularly. I am moderately sure I will be told lots of new stuff right here! Best of luck for the following!
