FINDING SOLACE AND SIMPLICITY IN NATURE

For two weekends in August and early September, Emogayu‘s sculpture installation, Tension 2012, coexisted splendidly amid fragrant herbs and fresh eggplant, plump green tomatoes, towering sunflowers, okra and other gems in the garden at DeKalb Market. The ceramic sculptures, crafted and fueled by an artist’s passion, were a welcome addition to the urban space nestled in downtown Brooklyn. The market itself encourages creative entrepreneurs to embrace a real sense of community and DIY ingenuity (check out the shipping container shops and eateries). In this case, a picture is worth a thousand words but a walk through the garden _ even better.
