FOOD: No Jive Turkeys on ‘The Chew’
Three days before Thanksgiving and I’m officially declaring my love for ABC’s uber-addictive daytime show, The Chew. Sure, I could focus on more pressing matters today, but why resist the urge when there was a turkey Q&A helpline hosted by the International Culinary Institute and The Chew. I HEART this show for all the right reasons, most of all the affable, all-star crew: Mario Batali, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, Daphne Oz and Michael Symon. Kudos on their second successful season! Last week, I got inspired watching the “Dish of the Day” segment on green side dishes. By the way: pay close attention to the video clip here since Iron Chef Symon’s Swiss chard gratin recipe apparently isn’t posted online yet. (UPDATE: recipe’s here).
In addition to keeping things interesting for an hour with celebrity guests, great recipes and useful tips on crafting and everything from soup to nuts, the co-hosts’ natural chemistry radiates on The Chew and beyond the ABC studio where it’s taped. At some point, you’ll find yourself really laughing out loud! Go with the moment. Better yet, sign up for free tickets to be a part of the fun if you’re in New York. I did earlier this year and it was a blast.
Still stressed out over kitchen duty as Thanksgiving nears? No sweat. Tune in weekdays (1 p.m. ET) and watch the Chew’s co-hosts spread a little more holiday cheer. They even made the cover of Parade magazine! Talk about Americana. Good food, good times … a winning combination.
