FASHION: Bettie Page Clothing Finds New Home on Bowery Street
WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Las Vegas-based retailer Bettie Page Clothing recently opened its first New York City boutique on the East Village’s famed Bowery Street, and devotees of the famously coquettish 1950s pin-up queen can rejoice. The bright and spacious store holds vintage-inspired delights by Russian designer Tatyana Khomakova, whose iconic brand has gained a loyal following since its initial store opening in 2007 on the Vegas Strip.
Now with 11 locations nationwide, the Bowery boutique becomes the third Bettie Page Clothing on the East Coast (others in Boston and Philadelphia). Immediately upon arrival, a sharply dressed staff welcomes customers with enthusiasm and charm. The quintessentially retro-themed fashions appeal to “real, everyday women who can come in, try on the clothes and look good,” explains NYC store manager Hayley Griffin. You’ll want to take your time checking out a cool choice of dresses, separates and more items offering a classic fit for all shapes and sizes (xxs-4x). I also love the fact that there’s even something for children and that special guy in your life.
And, just in time for the holidays, here’s a modern twist: take a picture of yourself at the store sporting Bettie Page Clothing and post it on social media (Twitter, Facebook or Instagram) with hashtag #bettiepagenewyork for a chance to win a $100 gift card.
