Welcoming 2013 with Word of Thanks

The new year kicks off with unlimited possibilities and opportunities out there for the making, which I look forward to with renewed focus and enthusiasm. Professionally, I’m entering another phase of creative projects for Tania Fuentez Media involving more editorial content production, Web design, photojournalism, blogging, videography and other cool developments. I’m particularly excited about new experiences as a featured contributor with Magnetic Magazine, 1200Dreams (The Nitelife Network) and The Motley Fool. Also, grateful to report an increased interest in this blog (A Journalist’s Journey) with visitors from nearly 150 countries checking out the site in 2012. Most visitors came from the United States, but much respect to my peeps across the pond in the U.K. and in France who weren’t far behind!

Recapping 2012, there were 151 new posts with at least two photos a day. A mix of underground/independent art culture, music exclusives, EP and album reviews, artist profiles, food and health/wellness articles boosted online traffic. The busiest day of the year was Oct. 6, which featured the most popular post that day: MUSIC: Ralf GUM Makes Himself at Home in South Africa. As for the most popular post in 2012, ART: JoLaVal Captures Signature Moments Around the Globe, claimed the top spot. An exclusive interview with pro skater Lance Mountain (Bones Brigade) was the second most popular post in 2012.

Top referring sites to A Journalist’s Journey in 2012 were:

Although it has been said here before, I genuinely appreciate your interest, support and a newfound following, yet there is a lot of work ahead of me. As a veteran journalist with years of newsroom experience under my belt, I gained a critical takeaway from a corporate layoff three years ago: roll with the punches and be ready to face life’s challenges clear-headed and well-informed. Every day opens the door to discovery. Most important, all forms of artistic expression are gifts not to be wasted. Here’s to a prosperous 2013. ¡Feliz Ano Nuevo!
