NEWS: Super Bowl Ads Score Big for 2013 Despite Blackout, Ratings

OK, whether you’re a serious football fan or not, Super Bowl XLVII delivered on all cylinders despite a distracting 35-minute blackout which followed Beyonce’s ramped up halftime performance at the Superdome in New Orleans. Despite all the buzz about the 2013 Super Bowl being the third-most watched TV show in U.S. history, ratings and viewership for the game and halftime show were down from last year, while Super Bowl ads still held their own. According to reports, CBS’ Super Bowl coverage drew 108.41 million Sunday night as the Baltimore Ravens overtook the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31.

The lineup of Super Bowl ads certainly offered something for everyone … even if you didn’t want to see it (really, what were they thinking over at GoDaddy.com?????) In case you missed any  stand-outs, the team at iSpot.tv covered the field. Hands down, two of my faves: Ram Trucks’ “Farmer” and the soon-to-be classic Budweiser ad, “Brotherhood.” Which ads do you think made a touchdown?
