PHOTO: ‘Game of Thrones’ Exhibit Conquers New York, Crowns Tumblr Fans
The fans may rejoice: HBO greenlit a fourth season of the cable network’s epic ratings giant, Game of Thrones. Easter Sunday’s Season 3 premiere pulled in 4.4 million viewers and set a record as its most-watched episode to date, according to Entertainment Weekly. A new, first-of-its-kind, traveling exhibit is adding to excitement surrounding the world of Westeros and those infamous noble houses, with stops in Toronto, New York, Brazil, Amsterdam and Ireland.
Crowds flocked to a limited showing presented by HBO and Time Warner Cable in Midtown Manhattan, which ends April 3. I joined the faithful waiting in line on Sunday … three long hours but worth every minute once inside. Amazing presentation with more than 70 original artifacts from Game of Thrones‘ first and second seasons, including actual props from the set, Tumblr fan gallery artwork, free Iron Throne photo-op, a chance to relive the Battle of Blackwater Bay and displays of wardrobe, weaponry and collectibles. Next stop on the tour: São Paulo, Brazil (April 25-30).
