MUSIC: Vinyl is King at Noble Square with Boo Williams’ Reissue

92096-1This summer, indie label Noble Square Recordings welcomed Chicago’s best kept secret Boo Williams into the fold, resurrecting two B-side tracks from his rare 1999 release, Fruits of the Spirit EP. Filled with deep House goodness, the out-of-stock EP is one of the most sought-after and a quintessential testament of Williams’ genius.

Noble Square presents Crying Black Man/Changes as a full 12″ vinyl package. The
 first
 track from the DJ/producer is
 a timeless groove
with
powerful
 spoken
 word
 samples. On
the
flip side, Changes,
gives us a
funky Strictly Jaz Unit classic with strong electronic tendencies and a masterful blend of soulful rhythms and synths.

Another point of interest from Noble Square: The Crying Black Man master
 tape
 was
 never
found
after
 an
 “intense
 search
 from
 label
 head
 Ricardo
 Miranda,
but
we
 made
it
 work
 anyhow.”
