FASHION: Lur Apparel Appeals to Eco-Friendly Fashionistas
Keeping in step with Fashion Week’s launch in New York, I’m turning the spotlight today on an eco-friendly line called lur apparel, which makes affordable women’s fashions from 100 percent recycled materials. Smartly pairing style and substance, it’s a great alternative for those committed to looking good and living sustainably.
Extremely soft to the touch, all lur fashions are made from recycled plastic bottles and pre-consumer cotton scraps. And, the startup gives a portion of profits back to two non-profit, non-governmental organizations working to empower women through education, vocational training and entrepreneurship.
As soon as I tried on the extra comfy Waterfall top, it became one of my immediate favorites. But, why not try out the line for yourself? The company is focused on eco-friendly apparel, and even shares the spotlight by highlighting like-minded companies, including some that offer handbags under $100. And, who could resist a good deal in this economy?
