FOOD: Village Voice ‘Choice Eats’ Takes Party Downtown to Basketball City
The Village Voice brings in the new year at a new venue for its seventh annual tasting event, “Choice Eats” in March. Quickly becoming one of New York City’s most-anticipated events, “Choice Eats” attracts thousands to sample a range of delicacies from some of the most “sought after restaurants across all the city’s boroughs under one roof,” organizers report.
Tickets go on sale Jan. 29 for the annually sold-out event formerly held at the 69th Armory, so plan accordingly. Last year, more than 60 local restaurants were in the spotlight with cuisine from 35 countries, each selected by The Village Voice’s food critics and previously featured in the Fork In The Road blog.
Event organizers also note all the excitement building over its move to the new downtown location at Pier 36, Basketball City — a state of the art Lower Manhattan venue that “will enable the event to grow its footprint plus expand the number of attendees, participating restaurants, demos and more.”
