FILM: New York City’s Trans Teens ‘Becoming More Visible’

The hopes and dreams of a group of homeless transgender teens define a ground-breaking documentary currently in the works by filmmaker Pamela French and New York photographer/producer Josh Lehrer. I’m especially excited to see this on the big screen and encourage public support by directing you to the Kickstarter campaign, which ends Feb. 6.

I’m proud to have met Josh and learn more about the original project when he shared his portrait series, Becoming Visible, with a larger audience at 2012’s Photoville in Brooklyn. It was clear then, and still is now, just how important their stories are and why they need to be heard.
