SUMMERSTAGE PRESENTS …

Excitement is building this weekend with the return of South Africa’s beloved son, DJ Black Coffee, to New York for a special performance during Central Park’s SummerStage concert series. The free event on Father’s Day (June 15) promises to be stellar, with a lineup including DJ Spoko and Electrafrique uniting for Okayplayer’s 15th anniversary. The much-anticipated show is dedicated to celebrating 20 years of freedom and democracy in South Africa and National Youth Month, in collaboration with the South African Consulate General-N.Y.

Black Coffee, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphumulo, has amassed awards and acclaim over the years as the Durban-born producer takes the global dance music scene by storm. His distinctive remixes dominate international charts while an impeccable style of DJing effortlessly impresses fans around the world. If you haven’t seen this class act in action yet, be sure to catch him on stage Sunday.
