FILM: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Feels at Home in Madame Tussauds New York
E.T. loves New York and the feeling is mutual.
Madame Tussauds New York recently opened its doors to the adorable alien for the anniversary of Universal Studios/Amblin Entertainment’s release of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (June 11, 1982). Cherish the memories and vicariously relive a cinematic moment here via a few photos showing a studio artist taking the wax figure to its new home in Times Square. Better yet, get a closer look in person this summer in the film experience at Madame Tussauds. Just don’t forget the Reese’s Pieces!
By the way: Did you know the heartwarming classic started out as a horror movie with a very different looking E.T. in mind? Original Night Skies designs that never saw the light of day (unfortunately in my modest opinion) surfaced on Twitter last month by master monster maker Rick Baker.
